Il genitore Procuste

è molto triste quando un genitore, prigioniero in una vita infelice, vuole tener giù un figlio o una figlia e farli prigionieri della stessa schiavitù che governa la sua esistenza. Se un figlio, o un altro membro della famiglia vuole uscire di questo cerchio non è un tradimento ed il genitore invece di detestarlo e di chiamare infatuazione il suo atteggiamento dovrebbe sostenerlo nell'inseguimento dell suo obiettivo. Però esistono delle persone che hanno un egoismo talmente grande che giudicano l'emancipazione degli altri membri della famiglia come un insulto alla propria condizione sociale ed umana. Per queste persone la felicità del figlio non sarà mai un momento di gioia ma di preoccupazione.

It is very sad when a parent, prisoner of an unhappy life, wants to hold down a son or a daughter and make them prisoners of the same slavery that runs their existence. If a son, or another member of the family wants to get out of this circle that is not treason, and the parent instead of hating him and calling infatuation his attitude should support him in the pursuit of his goal. Still, there are persons with so much selfishness that judge the emancipation of other members of the family as an insult to their social status and human status. For this persons the happiness of a son will never be a moment of joy but one of anxiety.
